Game 1: North Huron 21 Akron-Fairgrove 4 Logan Prill drove in four runs on four hits to lead the Warriors past Akron-Fairgrove 21-4 on Monday. North Huron won thanks in part to 15 runs in the sixth inning. an error scored one run, Wesley Kosinski singled, scoring one run, Prill singled, scoring one run, Landon Mergucz singled, scoring two runs, Owen Mellendorf tripled, scoring two runs, Griffen Schipinski singled, scoring one run, Jett Zimmerman doubled, scoring two runs, Kosinski singled, scoring one run, Prill singled, scoring one run, Mergucz doubled, scoring one run, and an error scored two runs. Kaleb Brandt-Antoszewski stepped on the bump first for North Huron. The hurler gave up zero hits and zero runs over three innings, striking out five and walking two. Mergucz and Jacob Koroleski each appeared in relief for North Huron. North Huron tallied 19 hits in the game. Leadoff hitter Mergucz led North Huron Varsity Warriors with five hits in six at bats. Zimmerman, Schipinski, and Kosinski each collected multiple hits for North Huron. Koroleski led North Huron with four walks. Overall, the team had a strong eye at the plate, amassing nine walks for the game. Mergucz and Mellendorf each stole multiple bases. The Warriors stole 11 bases in the game.
